More Than a Place to Stay

Planning a trip to a new region can feel overwhelming, especially if you've never visited the Auvergne before. We are happy to share our favorite restaurants, markets, hiking trails, villages, and local experiences, and can help connect you with trusted providers for activities such as horseback riding, knife-making workshops, and other regional adventures. Our goal is simple: to make planning easy so you can spend your time enjoying France rather than figuring it out.

When we first stepped through the front door of Maison D'Ossandon, we knew we had found something extraordinary.

Built in 1444 in the historic heart of Thiers, the house has welcomed generations of families, artisans, and travelers over nearly six centuries. We fell in love not only with its remarkable history, but with its warmth—the grand dining room designed for long conversations, the winding stone staircase, the sweeping valley views, and the feeling that every room had a story to tell.

Over the past year we have carefully restored and furnished the house, preserving its historic character while creating a welcoming home for today's guests.

Whether you're gathering with family, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for an authentic base from which to explore the Auvergne, we hope Maison D'Ossandon becomes part of your own family's story as well.
